Built in 1851 AD by the efforts of a pious Vaishnavite scholar Sri Rangadeshik Swamiji.
The temple has a reclining Lord Vishnu as is in Sri Ranganatha temple at Srirangam in Tamilnadu.
Sri Rangadeshik Swamiji hailed from Tamilnadu who got settled at Vrindavan following a divine dream to go to North India to preach Vaishnavism there.
This is largest temple in Vrindavan which houses more than 1000 temples all over. The temple has a marvellous architecture which is mix of South Indian and North Indian styles. The towering rajagopuram, however, marks an obvious Tamilnadu influence on its architecture style.
