Third of the Panch Kedar temples.

Legend is, face of the holy bull (Lord Shiva in disguise) appeared to Pandvas at this place. Lord Shiva is known as Neelkantha Mahadev.

Originally, this is a rock-cut temple. But some changes on its structure were taken place by the passage of time.

The temple is known for performing pinda-dan (offering to ancestors). Temple is on a beautiful landscape, surrounded by Trishul and Nanda Devi peaks of Himalayas.

of all the Panchkedar temples, reaching Rudranath temple is considered toughest.

Many trekking routes are available to reach the temple. Widely used is the Gopeswar route. one can reach Gopeshwar from Rishikesh by road (almost230 kilometers) and from there a 25 kilometers trekking is required (via Sagar village) to reach the temple.
