An ancient abode of Lord Shiva, which became famous through it’s association of Addi Shankaracharya- the great Saint and Hindu reformer of ninth century AD.

The original temple is said to dtae back 200 BC while the present structure is only 100 years old. it is alos known as Jyesteshwara temple.

Legend is , Sri Shankaracharya meditated at this temple before starting his all-India tour to reform Hindu religion. Some believe he got enlightend at this place.

The temple is within the Sri Nagar city.
