Here Lord Shiva is worshipped as a married man along with his consort Goddess Parvati.

The temple is built by Hoysalas. Being a Hoysala contribution, the temple is lavish in architectural style. It has beautiful sculptures all around the temple on various themes like married life, natural scenes and what not!

The depiction of about 500 hundred parrots on the wall, using every inch of the space available, is particularly note worthy.

The temple is famous for having a long and happy married life, visited by couples all around the area.

The temple is within the Bhoga Nandeeswara temple complex in Nandi hills. It is 60 kilometers from Bangalore.
